This sweet couple were the recipients of one of my family giveaways. It was perfect. My daughter and I drew Kallie’s name out of hat and announced to her she had won to find out that on that very same day she and her husband had been placed to begin the adoption process for their child.
Such a blessing! Such and answer to prayer! Even now, as I am writing this post, they have been decorating their sweet little baby’s room and they have found out the gender and have chosen a beautiful name for their little one.
Kallie’s story is relatable for many momma’s hearts out there. To those who carry the desire for children but have yet to see that hope fulfilled, to those who have wrestled with the costs and burdens often associated with the adoption process, and to those who are waiting on the Lord for that precious baby they have matched up with the finally be in their arms.
What I love most about their story, though, is that they have been so willing to open their hearts to the orphan.
Here are the beliefs and way of life that God our Father accepts as pure and without fault. When widows are in trouble, take care of them. Do the same for children who have no parents. And donβt let the world make you impure.
James 1:27
One of the ways that we as believers can respond to and apply the Word of God in our lives is through adoption. It’s a beautiful response to the needs in our fallen world and to display the exact representation of our own adoption as children of God to the world.
It’s a beautiful story with ups and downs. You can follow along at https://www.facebook.com/littlemountaindwelling to see the story unfold through home decor and sassy humor. π
I love how these Hazel Mountain Overlook sunrise photos turned out. I think you will too!
Kallie and Dan, as the sun rises on a new chapter in your life (I’m never ashamed to use some cheesy metaphors), I hope you both cherish these photos as memory to God’s work, his great love for you and your baby, and of that time when you woke up before the sun because you chose to…not because a tiny human made you π
I’m thankful for you and praying for your family!
